This is the Aft Foot Step Panel Latches for the Vario BK 117. This set also contains a strip with rivets that is located under the upper Aft foot step. The panel latches are placed on the center top of the large aft foot step on both sides of the fuselage. The Latches are non functional.
Each Aft Foot Step Panel Latch set includes each of the parts shown in the image below. The set is offered as "raw castings" and "ready to be installed".
The "raw castings" of the Aft Foot Step Panel Latches will need to be removed from the "raw casting". The whole set will require washing and it will contain some flashing which will need to be cleaned off. Each casting can be applied to the fuselage with CA or epoxy after the surface of both the model and the back of the casting have been lightly sanded.
The “ready to be installed” version will be cleaned, sanded, and will have two coats of primer paint added.
